Porthallow

The Five Pilchards has been the focal point of Porthallow’s fishing community since the early 1800’s, but today also offers five en-suite guest rooms for visitors to this tucked-away little village.

Porthallow itself can claim to be the actual midway point of the glorious South West Coast Path between Minehead in Somerset and Poole in Dorset – over 600 miles in all. Unsurprisingly, the Five Pilchards has thus become a popular stop-off point for those following the route, and a very welcome one at that.

The Helford River is little more than a mile to the north, while pretty much every hidden corner of the Lizard Peninsula can be reached by car in less than twenty minutes.

Please note that the Five Pilchards does not accept dogs.
