Sleeps up to 10. No dogs.
Offering five bedrooms, Tregarthen is located in the perennially popular waterside hamlet of Helford Passage – once a favoured haunt of David Niven and other stars of stage and screen, and frequented by the glitterati ever since.
The famous Ferryboat Inn is less than 100 yards away, and there’s also a shop selling handcrafted gifts (Sarah’s Shop) in the hamlet.
Meanwhile, nearby Mawnan Smith has a post office, 15th century inn, Italian restaurant, working blacksmith’s forge and craft shops. As such, you’re unlikely to really need to travel too far once you’ve arrived for your break.
There are plenty of places to visit and things to do right on Tregarthen’s doorstep. The gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan are within walking distance (about three quarters of a mile), while there are numerous quiet little coves such as Grebe Beach and Porth Sawsen between Helford Passage and the mouth of the river.
Alternatively, take the foot ferry across to Helford Village and discover what the south bank has to offer (lots, of course).
But even if going that far is too much, you can always relax around the outdoor swimming pool (weather permitting, of course) or enjoy the views from the balconies or patio.
