Charlton Lodge, Mawnan

This beautifully presented property is the lodge to a most splendid country house.

It boasts uninterrupted sea views and has the benefit of six and a half acres of level gardens together with a wildlife pond and fountain pool.

Guests are welcome to enjoy all of the grounds, and also have their own private patio and lawn area. From an adjoining field you can access the coastal footpath which is well marked. The views are simply breathtaking, and would be done an injustice by trying to describe them further here.

Approximately one third of a mile along the coast path is Prisk Cove, a stunning location often frequented by a herd of local cows (which only adds to the scenery!). With a little patience, cowrie shells can be found in abundance.

For horticulturalists, Mawnan Smith boasts the gardens of Carwinion (renowned for its bamboo collection), Trebah (famous for being the departure point for troops leaving for Omaha Beach on D-Day), and Glendurgan (NT).

The village (approximately one mile distant) is well-served by a convenience store, the Red Lion Inn, and Giuseppe’s Italian restaurant. The Cove restaurant at Maenporth around a mile away) serves superb food.
