Bishop's Quay on Mawgan Creek

Bishop’s Quay is a well appointed house, tucked away down a private lane between the villages of Mawgan and St. Martin. The property sits within farmland and woodland, and borders the Trelowarren Estate with its historic mansion, New Yard Restaurant and abundant walks.

Bishop’s Quay itself, boasts stunning river views and the property has the benefit of private fishing and the use of a boat for guests - arguably, the true splendour of the Helford River can only be fully appreciated by taking to the water.

Within a short distance is Gear Farm providing a small farm shop selling bread, pasties, pizzas, cakes and locally-caught fish. The village store at Mawgan also sells and array of local produce.

The area is notable for its stunning scenery and quiet walks, perfect for retreating from a busy lifestyle. If you can tear yourself away from the property, there are many villages within a short drive that are well worth exploring. Nearby are Helford and Manaccan, both of which have pubs serving food. A little further afield, the ancient fishing village of Cadgwith, Lizard (mainland Britain’s most southerly point), and St. Keverne also possess a selection of inns and restaurants.

That said, no one would blame you if you chose not to go anywhere during your visit - there are few lovelier locations anywhere in south Cornwall than this.
