The Withy self catering

There are numerous self catering properties around the Helford that possess “off the beaten track” appeal, but The Withy, near Porthallow, has more than most.

The sort of place that would appeal to couples seeking to get away from it all - or perhaps even single travellers seeking some peace and tranquility - the cottage features just one bedroom. However, great things come in little packages, with it not only boasting some splendid period charm, but also its own outdoor Villeroy and Boch hot tub. And should you stay during the winter months there’s always a wood burning stove in the sitting room.

Located in the tiny hamlet of Tregarne, The Withy is less than a mile from the beach at Porthallow, while Gillan Creek is to be found a couple of miles to the north. The villages of Manaccan and Helford are also both just a short drive away.

Local attractions include Roskilly’s at St. Keverne, while the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek is around half an hour away down winding lanes. Also close by are notable beaches such as Kynance Cove, while the beautiful fishing village of Cadgwith is within easy reach, too.

There are several dining options to be found within just a few miles, including the Five Pilchards pub at Porthallow; the New Inn and South Cafe at Manaccan; and the beautifully restored Shipwrights Arms at Helford.
