Badger's near Constantine

Offering a little bit of step-back-in-time appeal, Badgers Cottage is a real taste of “Old Cornwall”, situated as it is in one of the most ancient parts of Constantine parish and close to a lane that some believe to have Roman origins.

The building itself dates from the middle of the 19th century and, while benefiting from an element of seclusion, is little more than half a mile away from the thriving village centre on foot. Moreover, for those seeking to round their day off with an amble to a country pub, the Trengilly Wartha Inn is just a few hundred yards away.

Though ostensibly ideal for 4 people, the property is capable of taking up to six on account of its having a gallery/loft which is accessed via a ladder from the sitting room (the sort of arrangement that some older children would thoroughly appreciate). And Badgers isn’t just a place for summer holidays. With a wood burning stove, it’s the perfect hideaway at any time of the year.

Those who enjoy walking will, of course, find plenty of beautiful pathways in the Helford River area, but one of the finest is right on the cottage’s doorstep - take the route across fields and through woods to Scott’s Quay between the Polpenwith and Polwheveral Creeks for some stunning scenery.

And if you really feel the need to head into a town, both Helston and Falmouth are a short drive away.
